Description
Moves you from the run to the read: use Player Lock to provoke a reaction from the defender and attack the consequence.
The follow-up to “When to use Player Lock”. Against a good opponent, making the run is not enough: you need to know what to do after they react. Chousita shows you how to read the defender (do they follow you, let you go or jump to the ball?), how to use Player Lock as a decoy to create two threats with a single movement and how to apply it in a match depending on whether your opponent is aggressive, passive or follows every Player Lock you make.
What you will learn
- Read the defender’s reaction with three questions: are they following me, letting me go or pressing the ball?
- Use Player Lock as a decoy to open an inside lane or a late run from deep
- Create two threats with one movement and attack the one your opponent leaves free
- Threaten in behind, then check back to receive to feet with space
