When to use Player Lock in FC 27
Description
Teaches you to use Player Lock only when the AI is not giving you the run you need, and what for: creating a lane, attacking space or freeing up a team-mate.
Player Lock is the tool that gives you the most control over off-the-ball movement, but it is not meant for every attack. Chousita explains when it makes sense: when the AI is not giving you the run you want. In this first part: how to activate it, how it differs from an L1 run and its three uses (creating a passing lane, attacking space and freeing up a team-mate), plus the four most common mistakes.
What you will learn
- Activate and cancel Player Lock (L3 + R3) and switch players with the right stick, without forgetting the ball carrier
- Tell when an L1 run is enough and when you need the precision of Player Lock
- Use it for three things: creating a passing lane, attacking the space in behind and dragging a defender away to free up a team-mate
- Avoid the four common mistakes: using it on every possession, making runs too long, activating it while the ball carrier is under pressure and choosing the pass before you see the defender
Who it is for
For players who use Player Lock out of habit, or never use it because they do not want to lose sight of the ball carrier.
When to use it
In settled attacks, once possession is secure, when the receiver is screened or nobody is attacking the space you can see.
